PCAS Community (FB Group)
The PCAS (Pakistan-Canada Association of Students) is a Facebook group that is a dedicated space designed to support and guide students navigating their journey from Pakistan to Canada for higher education. This community was founded by Dr. Umer Farooq, a Pakistani immigrant who faced numerous challenges vis-à-vis admission and visa process while applying for his Masters, Doctoral and PostDoc journey in Canada. Recognizing the fragmented nature of information regarding admissions and visa processes, Umer envisioned a platform to bridge these gaps. PCAS is a trusted resource for Pakistani students in Canada.
Since 2015, the PCAS Facebook group has become a vibrant community where future and current students can share information, ask questions, and gain insights about Canadian academic life and immigration processes. Umer and other dedicated volunteers, including students and professionals from institutions like McGill, UBC, UoT, UAlberta and McMaster, have worked tirelessly to make this platform an invaluable source of support. Beyond information sharing, this group fosters a sense of community, where members can bond over shared experiences and challenges, creating lasting memories.
